Nouns of the Week

I could’ve called it Nouns of the Year, since my last one was in May of 2023. But, we all know how life does. No excuses though. There really are so many nouns that I love and I believe that I could really do this weekly, unfortunately, I’m not that consistent.

Person: Jesus. Sadly I don’t have a picture for this one because well, I don’t think anyone has gotten it quite right visually and honestly, how could they?! The Bible has been a best seller since the beginning of time. Many people have studied it and it has been broken down into many different versions to help others better understand God’s Word and His son Jesus. I’ve never read the Bible in its entirety but each chance I get, I try to watch movies or shows on the different stories in the Bible to get a better understanding visually. Most have done a really great job with their depictions. One TV series in particular has done an exceptional job is, Angel Studios “The Chosen”. It eloquently tells the story of Jesus and each episode seemingly goes line for line from the Gospels. It gives great visuals of who Jesus was and what He was sent to do. This last season that premiered had me on pins and needles because I really dislike this part of His life. Luckily I have time to prepare for season 5. I predict that it will be Passion of The Christ but a softer yet impactful version.

If you have no idea what and Who I am talking about but you would love to get to know Jesus, close your eyes in whatever place or space you are in and invite Him in! He is my Lord and Savior and He would love it if you decided to believe in Him also. Our Father God is waiting on you also!

Place: Fragrance Vault in 📍Lake Tahoe. I haven’t stopped thinking about this place since I left there. Quick story time. I went to Lake Tahoe a couple of weeks ago and I saw this place from afar as we were getting food and I said, I’ll go there before the trip is over to see what it’s about. Well on the last day before flying out, we went there and I was blown away. The atmosphere, the customer service, knowledge and awareness was top tier. They had so many fragrances and the décor was so unique and cute. Then there was Oliver, the store’s furry gentle giant. The store’s owner Jana was so willing to help find the perfect fragrance and so knowledgeable. Finally, there was Mackenzie, she is the silent killer. She played the background the whole time then came through like a thief in the night and sealed the deal for me. I’ll do a video on this place to give it the necessary shine that it deserves. But they have over 5,000 fragrances and offer sample/decant sizes on current or discontinued scents. I will definitely visit again. If someone is willing to travel just to go back to one store, that says a lot.

Thing: My tripod! It’s almost the same height as me! I had a smaller one similar to it for a few years and I lost it in Dubai.😢 I was so mad and sad about it and I finally found a bigger and better version. It comes with a remote and it doubles as a selfie stick. It’s still a travel size but just a little bigger than my last one but I am so obsessed with it! I no longer have to prop it on top of chairs and shoeboxes, it’s tall enough to get my full body. You can get yours here!

Sincerely,

Angie

My Nouns of the Week

I’m a couple of months late but here’s another group of nouns for this week. In case you missed the last post about my favorite things, which happen to be in noun (person, place & thing) form. It’s just a way for me to share the things I am loving or enjoying at the moment or in general. I got the idea from my friend Eric over at Imma Keep Going.

Person

Rockie

Meet my baby Rockie. He is a Shepsky (German Shepherd and Husky mix). He just made 2 months. He is so smart and an absolute sweetheart. He was gifted to me on Mother’s Day so that I could officially celebrate Mother’s Day as a dog mom. He came already knowing a few commands like “sit” and “stay”. Potty training is going well. He successfully pee’s on the training pad but we’re working on his aim. He hasn’t pooped inside since the first week I had him. I taught him to ring the bell at the door when he wants to go outside. I kind of taught him “paw” to shake hands. He will not go to sleep until I am in bed, then he sleeps right underneath the head of my bed. He is also teething, so teaching him not to bite things keeps me busy but I love every minute of it.

Place

Concert at The Saenger Theatre

This past week in particular, the place was The Saenger Theatre. I went to the It’s Time tour featuring Tasha Cobbs-Leonard, Naomi Raine, Tamela Mann, Natalie and Katie. This was my first solo concert and my first gospel concert. It was such a great experience. I want to go to more concerts like this in the future. I was about 30 minutes late due to looking for parking and walking to the venue but the 2-1/2 hours I was there, I only sat down for all of about 5-10 minutes. I sang majority of the songs and left out slightly hoarse. My heart was so happy and I was so grateful to know Jesus after that show. Music is honestly how I feel closest to God. The artists usually always say or express what I feel in my heart!

Thing

Chardonnay

I think I have been drinking wine since I first started drinking at 21 years old. Although my first introduction to alcohol was a daiquiri and wine coolers, wine came shortly after. I started off drinking White Zinfandel. It usually took me 3 to 4 glasses to really get a buzz. Then one day, I tasted Chardonnay and the buzz came with-in the first few sips. I was hooked ever since. It’s quite nasty but once you get past the taste, it understands the assignment. I have only had a few brands of Chardonnay that were really clean and smooth. Those were usually the ones that took me longer to get a buzz. I drink Chardonnay because cocktails are wishy washy. Chardonnay is a for sure buzz every time. When I’m at home, there are a few reds that I drink with my dinner or just to wind down and they are very reasonably priced. Mogen David Pomegranate and Taylor Port.
