Throw back Facebook Note edition – To Think Like a Man or Not to..
Written on May 1, 2012 @ 5:55pm.
Ok, so I’ve been seeing posts from men saying that women don’t need to think like a man or they won’t ever have a man. First of all…Stop it! Just because a woman isn’t gullible or naive & submissive to the point were she has no spine doesn’t mean she is thinking like a man or trying to be one. Its 2012 and not many men are playing their roles or doing their job as a man, so some women have to do what they have to do to get what needs to be done, done. Don’t confuse that with a woman thinking like a man. To me the whole purpose of the “thinking like a man” book was to get more women to stop SETTLING for less than what they deserve. Thus, thinking like a man. Knowing what men want & need, to help him be the best man that he can be for both parties. The right woman can do that for a man. So it’s to help you be the right woman, but doing it in a way that makes her still be the woman but smarter/wiser in her decision making when dating a suitable mate. So no one wastes any time.
I haven’t read the book. I’ve been having access to it since it came out. I don’t need the book to tell me my worth because I already know it. Anything I’ve done up to this point(relationship wise), I was well aware of and I don’t make any excuses for it.
Secondly…. to the boys who feel intimidated by this book and/or the think like a man movement (so to speak), I strongly suggest that you think twice about saying something about a woman standing up and doing what the boys who are complaining couldn’t/can’t/won’t do.
God, man, woman, kids. That’s the order. If there is no man available to do his job then the woman is up next. This isn’t male bashing. I’m just saying there are men that go head first when meeting a woman, who wants to move in with her and drive her car while she goes to work everyday. Now who’s the man in this relationship???? If y’all have been together and you are going through a rough patch, I can understand, but to go head first expecting a woman to take care of you is totally unacceptable. And that’s what needs to stop so we can get men to do what they need to do as men. A lot of women aren’t requiring much from men, therefore, they wont get much in return. If more women would require more from men then we will have less boys and more men. Me personally I think the men who are complaining are intimidated and can’t handle a woman who thinks for herself and requires more than the norm from her mate. Hop on board or get left behind.

Flash back Facebook Note – You asked for it!
Written on April 23, 2012 at 10:16pm
You get what you ask for. Life and death is in the power of the tongue. So, when you pray and ask for something, make sure it’s what you want. Don’t get mad or upset when it comes because it will be EXACTLY what you asked for. Don’t be ungrateful. Be thankful and understand that you have to be specific. If you have the power to ask for what you want, then why not be specific???? If, when you get what you prayed for and it’s not how you wanted it, you cant fault GOD. Just give thanks and pray for the necessary means to deal with the thing you originally prayed for.
That’s right, it all starts and ends with GOD and prayers. Prayers WORK!!!!! Pray your way through everything. In all things pray, trust and believe. Nothing will work without FAITH. You can’t pray and not have faith that you will get what you prayed for when its time(not YOUR time but GODS time).
Ex. Lets say you prayed for another car or a new car. Then one of your family members or co workers tell you they have a car they no longer want and you can have it. You prayed for another car and someone just gave you one. Its old to them but new to you. You can’t complain, because that’s what you prayed for. You have to be specific. Perhaps you can pray and say I need a brand new car off the showroom floor. A 2012 Nissan Maxima black with leather interior and a sunroof and fully loaded low payments or paid in full with no note. You have to be specific. The power of prayer is real!
Be sure to humble yourself in prayer and pray with confidence and believe in who you serve! GOD is still GOD! The one who can do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we can ask or think! Know that while you are praying that you are setting yourself up for your prayer to come to pass. Ask and it shall be given to you. Knock and the door shall be opened. Seek and you shall find. You have not cause you ask not! All things in Christ are Yes and Amen! What I’m telling you is not new. Its been in the BIBLE for a very long time. You just need to open it up and read it. Gain a relationship with GOD. Even if you can’t find a church just yet, get yourself a RELATIONSHIP with HIM!!!!! Be Blessed and Be a Blessing. Love ya!

Flash back Facebook Note – Who’s a Victim? Not me…
Written on March 3, 2012 7:31pm
Who’s a victim? Not me…
You have to know that everything happens for a reason. It’s so cliche but so true. There’s a season/reason for everything in your life. The good and the bad, but you can’t allow the bad to define who you are. It can make you who you are today, but that’s not who you are. You were chosen especially for the role and so was the person who may have hurt you. Once you realize their purpose and your purpose you take that and move on.
Bruised not broken. Things may have happened in your past that has caused you to feel a certain way about certain things but don’t blame that person. That was their job at the time. They were supposed to come in and do whatever it was that they did. You’re still here today so that means you survived. You’re a Victor. Not a Victim. Stop giving them so much credit for doing harm to you. Don’t praise them for that. Thank them for the experience.
God has set you a path. Its up to you to follow it and have faith that He will protect you along the way. He said He will never leave you nor forsake you. So follow the path and trust Him. Trust that whomever and whatever comes along the way is to only help/strengthen you. No matter how good or bad it is. Stop allowing the ones who caused you pain to hold a gray cloud over your life. They are probably somewhere enjoying life but you’re sitting around not living life cause of something someone did to you. Build a bridge and get over it. That’s real strength. Letting go and letting God.

Flash back Facebook Note -Write it down!
Written on February 10, 2012 12:35pm READ —–> Habakkuk 2:2-3 first.
Write it down. Make it plain. Get a piece of paper/notebook/journal/post-it/napkin or whatever. If there’s is something that you have been desiring or wanting write it down. Whatever it is. Write it down. Ask…believe…receive. Believe that u will receive it. And work towards whatever it is you wrote down. Keep the piece of paper out where you can see it every day. Each time you look at it Thank GOD in advance for it. Once u receive what u asked and prayed for scratch it off and on to the next. There’s no reason why anyone who has a relationship with God should go without. That is not what He wants for us. He said “you have not cause you ask not.” And “life and death is in the power of the tongue” So why sit around hating on someone or envying someone cause of what they have when u can have the same thing??? He is not a respecter of persons. What He does for one He can do for another, when all you have to do is have faith. Ask. Pray. Believe and work towards that! Don’t get it twisted thinking you can just write it down and not put work in. Faith without works is dead.
You have to know where your help comes from. Its not in man. It comes from the Lord. God uses man but you have to go through Him first.
Have you ever wondered why an employer picked you out of all the other qualified people that should have gotten the job? Or how you couldn’t find an apartment but you qualified for a house??? Or someone walked up to you in a crowded room/store and blessed you with whatever, out of all the other bystanders?? You ought to know what kind of God you serve. Have faith in Him. He already knows what you need and want. He’s already raising up someone to use their influences, resources and abilities to help you live your life. Things always fall into place once you pray for something and have faith that He will give you what you asked for. You may have needed new shoes and because you are a child of God, you prayed for shoes and someone may have just purchase new shoes that couldn’t fit and gave them to you! Ain’t God amazing?!
Do be careful of what you pray for. Because exactly as its written or asked for you will receive it. Be thankful and give thanks during your waiting period.
You are not supposed to live a miserable, depressed, unhappy struggling life as a child of GOD. We are supposed to live a life of abundance and peace but it starts with you. You have to ask. And to any person who reads this and applies this…please send me a msg or write on my wall or something and tell me your testimony.
I love y’all and be blessed.
Throw back Thursday “Facebook note” edition.
I posted a few notes about 6 years ago on facebook. I figured that I should share them weekly as a throwback post. Trying to get in the habit of posting. It’s also great to see the mind frame that I was in.
Behind closed doors.
Written on January 25, 2012 at 12:28pm
Read this —-> Matthew 6:1-34 first.
Let me be the first to say…I’m not perfect. Nor am I holier than thou. I’m not without sin. I too have fallen short. Daily. But what I am is a work in progress. I enjoy spreading positive vibes and messages and quotes and advice. Whatever I can do to make someone’s day or life just a little bit better. I’m not the average woman. Never have been never will be. So please don’t compare me to you. We are nothing alike. We don’t live the same lifestyle nor have the same morals or values. I’M ME! I’m thankful for who I am. I don’t have to LIE about what I have or don’t have and I don’t have to shout it to the world what I do have. With that being said…
I encourage all who may read/see this to seek GOD, get in a relationship with GOD and meditate/learn HIS word. Yes, you may go to church often or every Sunday but are you paying attention to His word? Hearing and listening to what is being said? Take heed to the word of God. Meditate on His word.
I’m saying this because people are always talking and wondering “how did she get that?” or “how is she making it?” “how is she still able to smile?” etc. You cant sit around wondering what is going on behind someone else’s closed doors. You don’t know the relationship people have with GOD. You don’t know how often they pray and meditate on His word. You have not because you ask not. You have to understand what kind of God I serve. He said do not worry about tomorrow let tomorrow take care of itself. He knows already what you need. So therefore the wheels are already in motion. Its up to you to have enough faith to know that when you ASK Him for something, BELIEVE that he will give it to you. TRUST Him and have FAITH in Him and handle your end of the deal. Faith without works is dead.
I truly believe that I am blessed and highly favored. People may think “I see Angela drink and in clubs sometimes. Then she gets on Facebook and try and preach.” To that I say I am a work in progress and just like I can give about 3 hrs to the club. I give more than that daily to HIM. I’m always praying and talking to GOD. No one knows what I do behind my closed doors.
I just want everyone to stay strong in His word and get to know HIM. It will be the best decision of your life. He hasn’t failed me yet. EVERYTHING that I have ever asked for He has given it to me the exact way I asked for it. EVERYTHING. Do you realize what everything means???? EVERYTHING. There are some things that I am still waiting on but I know that He got me. On His time. Not mine. When God can pick you out of over 500+ people for something that you wanted and He picked you to receive it!!!!!! You have to know that it was already yours. You just had to go forth and handle your end. No one knows what you do behind closed doors, they just see the reward. They see the reaping of what you sowed.
Trust in the Lord and lean not to your own understanding. I PROMISE He will give you peace that surpasses all understanding. And don’t just go to Him when you’re in need. Always talk to Him and thank Him. For He is truly worthy to be praised.
Until next time, Be blessed. I LOVE YOU.
My first time flying was in 1999 I believe and I was 15 years old. I flew alone to California from Louisiana and if I remember correctly, I had a connecting flight. That means I had to get off one plane and get onto another before making it to my destination. I remember being in the airport and watching/reading the monitors to make sure that I didn’t get lost. I didn’t ask anyone for help because I was young and alone and didn’t want to bring any attention to myself. I wouldn’t fly again until 10 years later in 2009, to go to Miami, Florida. I flew alone on that flight also.
Before 2009, I went on a few road trips here and there, that started in 2006. There were trips to Albany, Georgia; Biloxi, Mississippi and Destin, Florida. It wasn’t until the 2009 trip to Miami, that I wanted to make traveling a major part of my life. I had no excuses. I worked and saved and worked some more. I applied for and received my passport in 2009 because I was going on a cruise but I ended up cancelling the cruise. All that mattered though, was that I had a passport. I wouldn’t make use of it until 2 years later, in 2011, when I went on a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico. I didn’t get a stamp for it but I had finally put it to use and that made me happy.
Every year since 2009, I have taken just about 2 trips a year, one by plane and one road trip. I’ve been to Miami 3 times, New York, Atlanta, Las Vegas twice, Cozumel, Jamaica and Dominican Republic. Up until this year when I went to DR, I have never spent over $1,000 on a trip. That’s flight, hotel, food and fun included. A lot of people think that traveling is expensive, it’s not if you prepare and ask questions. I encourage everyone to travel and to enjoy the fruits of their labor. I believe that life is for the living. This world is so much bigger than our neighborhood, city and state. I hope to travel further out of the country soon. To places like Africa, Paris, Dubai, China, etc. I really don’t care where, I just want to go!

When I turned 30, I decided to open up my heart to love and decided to stop running from it. Now I don’t mean the normal love that I have for everyone. I mean the kind of love where you have to be selfless and put your feelings aside for the sake of someone else’s. The kind of love that makes you want more and better for yourself and others. To be at the age of 30 and guarded from being in love because it wasn’t with the ideal person or the right time, was old news and I wanted a change. Love is a beautiful thing. Whether it’s loving yourself or someone else, being in love or just loving life.
This was by far the best decision that I have ever made. I can see clearer now. The things that I already appreciated and thought were beautiful have blossomed with vibrant colors and more beauty. Everything seems so much brighter. I’m much more sensitive to things. I feel more compassion and the smallest things hurt me but because of who I am, even the hurt is beautiful. I chose the picture of this rose because it’s beautiful and delicate like my heart is. Also because I captured it myself. Although it has a few dark spots, its beauty is still overwhelming. This is why I choose love.
